A0 - Introduction to the Greek Language

Greek is an Indoeuropean language, just like Spanish or English, and that´s why there are many words with common origin and are shared amongst the languages. 

However, the Greek language has its own writing system, the Greek script or Greek Alphabet, which in Greek is called "Alfávito".

To be able to make progress and improve your level of Greek you need to familiarise yourself with the alphabet and learn how to read and write in Greek. In these classes you will learn to:

  • read and write the Greek letters

  • read and write vocalic and consonantic groups 

  • identify the different sounds of the modern Greek language

  • read and write basic expressions in Greek

  • start comunicating in Greek in basic social situations. Key words and expressions.
