Hi there! I ´m Polymnia, I teach Modern Greek and Spanish online. Welcome to my website!
​
As you might have already suspected from my name, I am Greek, from a very small island in South East Greece, in the Aegean Sea, called Kalymnos. If you have never heard about it, don´t worry, there are more than 3000 thousand islands in Greece!
​
For the last fiver years I ´ve been living in Madrid where I teach Modern Greek and English to Spanish speakers and Spanish to Greek language speakers. At the same time I am studying Linguistics and Applied Languages at the Complutense University of Madrid.​
​
Being a Greek, who lives in Spain I got to know very well all the challenges Spanish speakers face when they are trying to learn and use the Greek language. I also know very well what it takes for a Greek speaker to master the Spanish language, all the difficulties, the doubts and surprising facts about the similarities and the differences between the two languages.
​
​Apart from working as as language teacher I´m also a passionate language learner. Greek is my native language but I also speak English and Spanish at a proficiency level, French at an intermediate level and I´m currently learning Russian and Turkish (still an elementary student!). I can help you by sharing my experience in language learning. You might have alreadyrealised how fun and exciting it can be.

I strongly believe that learning a new language is another way of travelling through time and space around the world, getting in touch with different cultures and understanding the world we live in.
​
By studying Modern Greek, you ´ll be travelling with your mind to Greece, its culture and civilisation, its long and turbulent history, its music, its people, its comedy, its tragedy, its poetry...
​
Studying Spanish means travelling to the fascinating word of the hispanic cultures, diversive language groups with their own caracterisitcs.
